  1. Provide of Pakwaan.
  2. Provide 1/2 cup of maida/All-purpose flour.
  3. Use 1/2 tsp of ajwain/carom seeds.

  15. Get 3-4 of green chillies.
  16. You need 1 tsp of jeera (cumin seeds).
  17. Prepare 2 tsp of coriander powder(This is main masala,don't reduce quantity).
  18. Use 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder.
  19. You need 1/4 tsp of garam masala.
  20. You need 1/4 tsp of amchor/dry mango powder (optional).
  21. Prepare 1 pinch of Hing(asafoetida).
  22. Take 1 pinch of turmeric powder.
  23. You need 1/2 tsp of kashmiri lal mirch (optional).

Steps to make Dal Pakwaan:

  1. For pakwaan, mix all ingredients from pakwaan section and try to bind maida. Don't add too much oil or less oil. You should be able to bind like shown in pic..
  2. Using water make little hard dough something like puri dough. And cover dough and keep aside for 20 minute.dough should not be very hard or very soft..
  3. After 20 minutes take small portion of maida dough and roll it like chapati. And make holes using fork. And fry them on low-medium flame..
  4. Soak both the dal for 2-3 hours, if possible use hot water for soaking..
  5. Now in cooker add add, 2 cup water, salt turmeric and 1/2 tsp oil, close the cooker and keep on high flame, after 1 whistle slow the gas and wait for 1-2 whistle. This depends on quality of dal..
  6. After that open the cooker and check the consistency..
  7. In a bowl mix all the tadka dry masala. And now in pan add 2 tsp oil once oil is hot add jeera and green chillies, I have chopped chili and slit also..
  8. Once chilli are fried little add all the masala and mix nicely and immediately add dal..
  9. Dal-pakwaan is ready. Garnish with onion and serve with green chutney and imli chutney..
